Château Le Jardin Founders

The Founder

Carlo Parentela who was inspired by his parents who ran La Stella Banquet Hall, a successful catering company and venue, had his entrepreneurial sights on the hospitality industry from a young age.

After joining the family business in 1984, he would soon move on to become the company’s President / General Manager, and officially take over the family business from his father, Giuseppe Parentela. Carlo eventually grew the company into the current day 38,000 sq. ft event venue. Carlo credits much of Château Le Jardin’s success to the extreme attention to the small details. #ExpierenceExcellence!

The Parentela Family has been entrenched in the hospitality industry for over three decades and has steadily pushed the envelope in Service Standards and culinary prowess since their inception. Throughout their lifetime, Château Le Jardin has hosted over 50,000 events and welcomed over 5 Million guests from all across the globe. Moving forward, the torch will be carried by Carlo’s three children, Christopher, Julian and Natasha Parentela. All three highly educated and adept children possess the character traits and competency to ensure that the business will grow and maintain the high standards on which Château Le Jardin has built its success.

Meet The Team

Julian Parentela

Julian Parentela

President & General Manager

Julian holds an Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering from Ryerson University and was a Project Coordinator with one of the world’s largest construction conglomerates in EllisDon, and previously served as a Project Coordinator with Canada’s leading residential developer Tridel.

At Château Le Jardin, Julian is responsible for all aspects of the event venue operation, and currently is focused on the sales and marketing aspects of the business. Previously, Julian led Château Le Jardin through a major brand transformation which included a complete overhaul of the Brand’s logo, marketing collateral and sales brochures, while also revamping the website and implementing extensive improvements to the Sales Department’s processes and procedures.

Tony Basil

Executive Chef

A George Brown Chef School graduate, Chef Tony has always had a deep passion for cooking. He has travelled the world and lived in various countries experiencing the unique flavours and foods different cultures and nations have to offer.

From humble beginnings, Chef Tony started out as a dishwasher, then line cook, and through hard work has made his way to the top, becoming Château Le Jardin’s very own Executive Chef. His exceptional approach to refined cuisine has been honed over a career that spans well over 35 years as a chef across various prestigious restaurants and banquet halls such as Doctor’s House, Romanos, Paradise and many more.

His journey as an avid food traveller combined with his lifelong practice in cooking has allowed him to develop a meticulous cooking style, coupled with a strong commitment to excellence, all of which are reflected in every meal served at Château Le Jardin … Buon Appetito!

Mayer Sadek

Mayer Sadek

Director of Operations

Mayer Sadek has been working in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, excelling in numerous departments.

Mayer has experience in Kitchen Service, Bartending and Banquet Management for which he has overseen all aspects of operations while directing and executing events. All departments in the hospitality industry fall hand in hand, and Mayer has significant experience and expertise in every department.

Mayer is very knowledgeable on the Château Le Jardin room dimensions, table sizes, and as Director of Operations provides logistical support to ensure that each CLJ event exceeds the client’s expectations.

Eugene Iozzo

Eugene Iozzo

Sales Manager

Eugene has been in the Hospitality Industry since the age of 16, starting as a waiter, moving behind the bar as a bartender, to eventually leading teams as a Food & Beverage Manager at various venues throughout the GTA.

After Graduating from York University in 2005, Eugene transitioned into the sales aspects of the industry, and over the past 15 years has gained extensive experience in various cultural wedding receptions and religious ceremonies. In addition Eugene has a broad knowledge of various ethnic cuisines and service styles, to make clients feel confident that their event here at Château Le Jardin will be executed seamlessly.

Alexandra Saldini

Alexandra Saldini

Sales Consultant

Alexandra Saldini has an honors degree from the Culinary Management Program at George Brown College, which has helped her excel in the hospitality industry over the past 20 years.

With Alexandra’s family being leaders in the illustrious Toronto restaurant scene for over 40 years with various notable venues, she has extensive experience in fine dining and elite customer service. Alexandra’s hospitality roles have ranged from Bartender to Special Event Coordinator to Management, plus various culinary titles which makes her an extremely well-rounded sales consultant. Alexandra is proud to be a part of the CLJ Family, and will be focused on assisting all clients with their Social Events needs for the planning of their future events.

Kirsten Ragogna

With over 25 years of progressive experience in the Hospitality Industry, focused on sales, event planning and hotel operations, Kirsten Ragogna is considered an industry expert that is passionate about providing CLJ guests with an exceptional client experience.

Kirsten uses her exceptional interpersonal skills to build an environment of mutual trust and respect with all stakeholders and partners by ensuring transparent communication with all, while always working with the utmost integrity, respect and honesty.

Geraldine LoSchiavo

Geraldine LoSchiavo

Sales Consultant

Geraldine is an optimistic & enthusiastic sales professional with over 10 years of banquet hall sales experience in special events coordination, event operations, and event sales. She is passionate about building strong client relationships, loves meeting new people and learning about different cultures and ethnic traditions.

With each new CLJ Client, Geraldine focuses on developing a comprehensive action plan to ensure her client’s expectations are met. She earns the trust of clients through her inate ability to truly listen to each unique client need, and uses her creativity to help bring those needs and wants to reality.

Alesia D’angelo

Alesia D’angelo

Director of Events

Alessia graduated with honours from George Brown College with a diploma in Specialty Event Management, and has extensive knowledge and experience as an event coordinator which is what makes her so insightful of all aspects of an event.

Alessia is most proud of her creativeness, which is what makes her so eager to assist and manage her client’s needs. Whether it be a large event, conference, speciality party, or a small meeting, Alessia always aims to present all clients with innovative styles and new ideas on how to make their event that much more special and unforgettable!

Angela Miller

Event Coordinator

After graduating from Trebas College, where she specialized in Event and Venue Management, Angela Miller began as an intern at the event company “Linda the Event Planner”, working her way up to Senior Event Coordinator and along the way developed a passion for planning and managing unforgettable events.

Angela has an extensive background in the Hospitality Industry, with over eight years of work experience within restaurants and banquet halls. With a passion for perfection and creativity, Angela is confident she can assist her client’s when planning their next event at Château Le Jardin.

Stephanie Marrello

Stephanie Marrello

Design Lead

Stephanie Marrello has a Bachelor of Design from OCAD University, majoring in communication design and advertising. With a total of 11 years in the creative field, she has worked with an array of diverse clientele and brands throughout the GTA, which has helped her grow into the dynamic and versatile creative that she is today.

Stephanie is a key member of the Château Le Jardin Team as she oversees the entire creative process from concept, to visualization, to final execution of all marketing initiatives, sales campaigns and social media efforts. Basically if it looks good, Stephanie most likely did it!

Brenda Gorgis

Bookkeeper

With over 10 years of experience supporting accounting activities for various firms within the GTA, Brenda prides herself in having developed an advanced knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, which she applies diligently in all of her day-to-day tasks at Château Le Jardin.
